Alright, alright the title is a lil' exaggerating. It's not that spooky kinda nightmare like cerita hantu...hehehe. Its me having forgotten my HUSBAND'S BIRTHDAY.Yes!! a wife who forgets her husband's birthday. Teruk kan kan??
Now here's how it all started..I have been sick for sometime, was put on drips etc. All that made me weak. I cant even taste my food well due to the medication. Yucks. My husband flew from Singapore to just make sure that I get better. Once I was ok, he left again to join ship. Just as I thought "Yahoo!! I feel good!" it hit me again. Sigh. So all I thought of at that time was to get well and get out of that sickness.
15.12.2012 was the date. Husband called to check how I was doing and all. So I happily told him what I did as I felt slightly better, telling him every detail of what I did and was going to do. You know when you are far apart from one another you get excited kan. Hehehe. Suddenly he asked me "Are you guys celebrating any special occasion today?" and I go like "Hmmm what's the special occasion today? No I don't know of any special day today." then he goes "ohhh I see" and silly me went on "ok today's date is the 15.12.2012 kan" that's when it hit me. OMG!!!!! well there's no way I can mend that right? no way I can pretend that I was joking of forgetting his birthday. I was caught and the spot light is right on me.
When it hit me I just don't know what to say. I fumbled on my words. I keep apologizing. I mean how could I ever forget his birthday. I have never forgotten his birthday when we were courting and we've never gotten the opportunity to celebrate mine or his birthday as he had always been at sea during my birthdays and his except for this year. I was fortunate enough as he came back from sea just on my birthday month.
I felt even more bad when I remembered how my husband threw a surprise party for me on my birthday. Dah lah on that morning of my birthday I merajuk with him cause he didn't wish me. I wanted him to be the first person to wish lah kan. Even until I was back at home I still didn't get any wish from him. I was really upset. He then took me for a drink near home and suddenly when our drinks arrived he rushed me to finish my drink after receiving an sms on his phone. I was so pissed off. No birthday wish, and now rushing me off to finish my drink.
To my surprise when I reached home, I found that he had actually planned for a birthday party. It was so sweet of him. He actually called up my sister to bake a birthday cake for me. (my sister has an on-line bakery. I shall cover about her business in my next blog alright) ;). Isn't that just so adorable of him.
So when I actually forgot his birthday I felt really bad. So from today onwards I shall mark my calendar well.
Just a short note before I end this entry. Women has always been associated with the fact that they go sulky when their birthday is forgotten. But I beg to differ. Its just human to feel a lil' down when the person dear to you just plain forget your birthday. Like me :p Come on who doesn't. Unless they are the kind who just don't care about birthdays lah kan. hehehe.
